Wajiha Habib and Navara Waheed, founders of Cygnus Solutions who won the first position in “ideas about CSR and SDGs”. The competition is called the Busan Global Smart Cities Challenge held in the beautiful city of South Korea; Busan. It was a part of ITU Telecom World 2017.
Their product, Orbit, outshined all of the competitor’s startups. This is a kinda big deal because participants from more than 60 countries – including USA, Russia, India, and Indonesia – were competing.
Orbit had already bagged its achievement of winning the Ignite Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Hackathon held in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad last month.
What is Orbit?
Orbit is an application which uses Augmented Reality (VR) to convert concepts written in 2D into 3D allowing the user to interact with these images via a user-friendly interface. It will surely revolutionize the learning process for students all across the globe and will provide a great platform for technical application of AR in the basic schooling and education of people.
This feature basically gives the student a literal and physical perception of the written concept making it easy and fun to understand and/or learn.
After its first achievement in Islamabad, the startup has taken a giant leap and will definitely bag popularity in the future – while helping students and teachers both all across the globe by providing a practical learning experience.
It will set a new standard and create a new learning process encouraging people throughout the world to implement it for easy learning.
Cygnus Solutions
Cygnus Solutions is a software developing company co-founded by Wajiha Habib and Navara Waheed in 2014. It is part of the Technology Incubation Center (TIC) at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST).
