By the end of June 2017, the number of 3G and 4G users have crossed 42 million-mark in Pakistan. Previously, it was 41.728 million by the end of May 2017, according to the report published by Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA).
As from the data exclusively available on the Internet, by the end of previous month, the number of mobile phone users in Pakistan has reached 139.758 million as compared to 140.516 million users by the end of May 2017, which represents a fall of 7,58,143 users during the period.
The total number of 3G users for Jazz are 12.443 million by the end of last month, which is less as compared to 12.504 million by the end of May 2017.
However, there is an increase in the Jazz’s 4G users which jumped from 895483 by the end of May 2017 to 937,209 by the end of June 2017.
The 3G users for Zong have been reduced to 8.64 million by the end of last month as compared to 8.674 million reviewed by the end of May 2017.
But, there is an increase in the 4G users of Zong, the numbers jumped from 3823877 by end May to 4041766 by the end of June 2017.
There is also decrease in the 3G users of Telenor, as the number goes down from 10.473 million by the end of May 2017 to 10.453 by the end of June 2017 and the number of 4G users jumped from 519788 by the end the May 2017 to 607013 by the end of June 2017.
Unlike others, there is an increase in the 3G users of Ufone as the total reached to 4.96 million users by the end of June 2017 as compared to 4.836 million by the end of May 2017.
Cellular mobile teledensity reached to 72.41% and broadband subscribers hit 44,608,065 at the end of June 2017 and at the end of May 2017 these numbers were 41,728,236, which reflects a good increase in the number of broadband subscribers.
